Joe Crews Whipple

Mr. Joe Whipple, age 58, and a resident of Hunter Street, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 3 at his residence in Columbia, Tennessee. A memorial service will be held at Fish Trap Cemetery in Lawrenceburg at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Joe was born on June 24, 1954 in Pennington Gap, Virginia. He was the son of the late William and Myrtle (Crews) Egly Whipple. He was a high school graduate of Jonesville High School in Jonesville, Virginia. He was of the Methodist faith and previously worked as a fork lift operator for Johnson Controls in Columbia. He is survived by his three brothers: Fred (Sandra) Egly of Lawrenceburg, TN, Mark Whipple of Lawrenceburg, TN, Michael Whipple of Knoxville, TN; sister: Carol Egly (Ron) Wyatt of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents: Joseph and Hattie Jo (Leftwich) Whipple and Fred and Clara (Clayton) Crews Gobbell.
