Mr. Edwin Wayne Chumley, age 62, and a resident of Eugene Road in Columbia, TN passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services for Edwin will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Wayne Hardison and Rick Points officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 4-8 PM and also on Wednesday from 12 until the service hour at 2. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of arrangements. Born on October 27, 1950 in Maury County, TN he was the son of the late Edgar Nolan and Malene Pinkleton Chumley. He previously worked as a machine Operator for ICP manufacturing in Lewisburg and Haley's Tools and Stamping in Franklin. He was a member of Jones Valley Church of Christ and attended Northview Church of Christ in Columbia. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He liked to watch car racing, and he was constantly fixing and repairing things for his family. He is survived by his wife, Marie Slaughter Chumley; son: Kevin (Silvia) Chumley of Columbia; brother: Edgar (Donna) Chumley of Columbia; special niece: Dana Woodard; and special friend: Wayne Slaughter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandparents: George and Eva Lou Ring Chumley and Floyd and Rosie Lovell Pinkleton. Pallbearers will be Richard Whitley, Randy Brewer, Alan Chumley, Robert Whitley, Ray Brewer, Wayne Slaughter, J.W. Slaughter, Floyd Horne, Rodney Pinkleton, Stan Pinkleton, and Wesley Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of ICP and Haley's Tools and Stamps, Donald Slaughter, and O'Neil Hanes. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society: 200 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203. Condolences may be sent to the family at the top of this page.
