Mrs. Dorothy M. Perkins, age 82, and a resident of N. High Street in Columbia, TN passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at her residence. A funeral service for Mrs. Perkins will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 1:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Bruce Frierson officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4-6PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. Dorothy was born on June 16, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Anderson Brown, Sr. and Mary Frances Chandler Brown. She was a member of the Church of Christ faith, and she was educated in the Maury County and Davidson County school systems. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children: Rosie Ann Brown, Edna Faye Curry, Ronald Brown, Althea Perkins, Anthony Perkins, William Troy (Gina) Perkins, Ava Maurissa (Sergio) Rodriguez, LaTanya Perkins; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; devoted grandson, Brittney Perkins; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Tolliver; a niece; and three nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Fabian Perkins; grandson, Brent Perkins; two brothers, Frank and Anderson Brown; and sister, Rosie Lee Brown. Pallbearers will include Richard Duncan, Harold Whittaker, Howard Stephenson, Carl Wayne Burkeen, Derrick Porter, and Michael Jones. Mrs. Perkins granddaughters will serve as flower bearers.
