Shelby Robert Rowland III

Shelby Robert Rowland III, age 67, of Nashville, TN passed away March 23, 2013 in his hometown of Elizabethton, TN. A memorial service to celebrate Shelbys life will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM with a memorial service immediately following. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. Shelby worked at Levys in Nashville for over 30 years where he made many long life friends. Following his retirement, he moved to Columbia to be closer to his grandchildren and enjoyed his volunteer work at Maury Regional Medical Center. He loved fishing, but his greatest pleasure in life came from spending time with his grandchildren, MaKaylee and Tristan. Shelby is survived by his daughter, Brandy Rowland Green; son-in-law, David Green; son, William Curtis Rowland; daughter-in-law, Ashlie Rowland; grandchildren, MaKaylee Green and Tristan Rowland. He is also survived by sister, Judy Heaton; brother, Gordon Rowland; Chris and Stacy Reynolds; and his beloved dog, Ginger. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Bowers Rowland and his father, Shelby Robert Rowland, Jr. Shelby requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to his grandchildrens education fund which has been set up at Regions Bank.
