Mrs. Nancy Gayle Bell, age 68, wife of Joe Bell, and a resident of Erwin Road in Columbia passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Minister Barry Farris and Danny Glen Grooms officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 4 " 8 PM in the Hunter Room of Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of the arrangements. Born in Cowan, Tennessee on October 25, 1944, Nancy was the daughter of the late William Carter and Margie Sneed Sweeney. She previously worked as a Registered Nurse at Maury Regional Medical Center for nearly 35 years and was very proud of her accomplishments of becoming a nurse. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and traveling. Nancy was a member of the Red Hat Society, and she loved everybody, especially her family. In addition to her husband, Joe, of nearly 52 years, she is survived by two sons: Steven F. (Annette) Bell of Ethridge, TN, Joe Scott Bell of Jacksonville, FL; three brothers: John (Mary Paul) Sweeney, Jerry (Jonell) Sweeney, Mike (Becky) Sweeney all of Columbia; two sisters: Dorothy (J.W.) Campbell of Columbia, Kaye (Fred) Hahn of Brentwood, TN; three grandchildren: Adam and Rebecca Bell of Ethridge, TN and Heather Bell of Jacksonville, FL; three great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by two sisters: Jean Sweeney Hight and Judy Faye Sweeney. Pallbearers will be Jason Campbell, Jeremy Campbell, Jonathan Sweeney, Jared Sweeney, Tim Sweeney, Ben Pitts, and Dave Jetton. Honorary pallbearers are the physicians and nurses at Maury Regional Medical Center. Condolences may be sent to the family at the top of this page.
