Aubrey Spires

Mr. Aubrey "Little Pete" Spires, age 71, husband of Nancy Spires, and a resident of Covey Hollow Road in Culleoka, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. A private celebration of his life will be held by his family at a later date at his residence. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Sammy Mac Spires and the late Katie Ann Pollion. He and his wife, Nancy were wed on February 7, 1972. He worked as a laborer and roofer and was of the Baptist faith. If there ever was a loving family man, he was just that. He thought more of his family than he did himself. He had a very special relationship with his father-in-law and loved people in general. He would help anyone who would allow him to. Among his many interests in life, he enjoyed fishing and gardening but nothing held a candle to his love and care for his family. In addition to his loving wife, he left behind to cherish his memory his sons: Sammy, Gary, and Randall Spires all of Culleoka, TN; Jonathan Redd of Lewisburg, TN and Roy Fitzgerald of Columbia, TN; two grandsons: Josiah & Isaiah Fitzgerald; and a very special niece, Tammy McNeese, whom he treated like his daughter; and a brother-in-law Randy Collins and sister-in-law, Sarah Smithson both of Culleoka, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings. Condolences can be sent to the family at the top of this page.
