Mrs. Frances Rebecca Gifford Hardison, age 87, and a resident of Bristow Road in Columbia, TN passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at NHC HealthCare in Lewisburg, Tennessee. A Funeral Service for Mrs. Hardison will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Hueston Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the Haynes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Gifford and the late Ada Howell Gifford. She was the widow of John Lee Hardison who passed away in 1997. She was a long time resident of the Bryant Station Community. She had retired from Dupont and was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ. She loved her church and thoroughly enjoyed her Ladies Bible Class. She was a very loving lady who liked to visit with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and bowling and was on various bowling leagues. She will greatly be missed by all of her loving family, church family, neighbors and friends. Mrs. Hardison left behind to cherish her memory three daughters: Barbara (Everett) Campbell of Lewisburg, TN, Sharon (Freddy) Slaughter and Susan (Tim) Barnes both of the Bryant Station Community; two sons: Hank (Vivian) Hardison of Belfast, TN and Hal (Sheila Stewart) Hardison of Culleoka, TN; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; three nieces: June Steffy of Nashville, TN, Pearl Boyd of White House, TN and Wanda Hillesheim of Alexandria, TN; and loving neighbors and special friends including Margaret Rochelle. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Scott Gifford and a grandson, Joseph Dean Slaughter. Active Pallbearers will be: Michael & Todd Campbell, Cody and Sam Slaughter, Marty Parrish and Jason Hardison. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Jerry Vaughn, Richard Yates, Jack Craig, L.V. Rubert, and Harvey Victory.
