Katherine Morrow Watters Ramage Love

October 28, 1922 - September 19, 2012

Katherine Morrow Watters Ramage Love died peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Her five children gathered in Nashville to share their love with her in her final days and to cherish the many gifts she gave them. Katherine was born with a grand spirit to match her fiery red hair in Birmingham, AL on October 28, 1922, the only child of Lapsley and Eloise Morrow Watters. She was quick-witted, adventuresome, and a talented artist who was unsurpassed as a wife and mother. Katherines lifelong devotion to the Presbyterian Church took on new dimensions when she married her first husband, the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL. She earned her Bachelor's in Sociology, with a minor in Art, from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. During her lifetime, she worked as a draftsperson for Hayes Aircraft in Atlanta during WWII, a medical illustrator for M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, an art teacher, and as an admirable homemaker. In her later years she was a Seniors Activity Coordinator for the First Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff, AR. Her parents and two husbands, Edward Vandiver Ramage Sr. and Charles Allen Love, are deceased. Katherine and Ed Ramage had five children, who survive: Elizabeth Lapsley Ramage of Nashville, Katherine Morrow Ramage of Berkeley, CA, Edward Vandiver Ramage Jr. of Nashville, Samuel Johnson Ramage II of Nashville, and Frederick Watters Ramage of Bellingham, WA. Her spirit and legacy will live on through six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family and friends will celebrate her life with a memorial service at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3201 Hillsboro Pikein Nashville on Saturday morning, September 29 at 10:30 AM.
