Mr. Clarance Wayne Lowery, age 65, husband of Velma Lowery and a resident of East 9th Street in Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday morning, August 31, 2012 at his residence. A Memorial Service for Mr. Lowery will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Rory Gant officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 12:00 PM until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Clarance, or as everyone called him, Papa Coon, was born on August 8, 1947 in Culleoka, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Clarance Lowery and Nannie Jo Lowery. He loved traveling, camping, and visiting the mountains. He especially enjoyed riding motorcycles and was in a motorcycle club. He had worked as a machine operator for Sanford Pencil Factory. This loving husband, father and grandfather will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his loving wife and mother, Clarance left to cherish his memory one son, Vance Martin of Columbia, TN; three daughters: Telecia Lowery, Anish Cofer, Markeshia Cofer, all of Columbia, TN; two brothers: Charles (Darlene) Lowery and Stanley Lowery, both of Columbia, TN; a sister, Felicia Lowery also of Columbia, TN and eleven grandchildren. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Lowery; two sisters: Jean Martin and Johnnie Mae Lowery and brother, Billy Jo Lowery.
