Laurie Jean Brooks-Grado

Mrs. Laurie Jean (Pohlman) Brooks-Grado, age 48 and a resident of Mooresville Pike in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Columbia officiated by Rev. Scott Aleridge. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Laurie was born on July 27, 1964 in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Earl and Sharon Anne Pohlman. She was a caregiver who lived for her animals and enjoyed reading. She was a happy, outgoing, upbeat person who always brought out the best in everyone. In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sons: Joshua Allen (Leah) Polhman, Sean Michael Brooks, Eric Brooks all of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter, Nicole Nikki (Stephen) Stephens of Columbia; brother, Earl Pohlman, Jr. of Nebraska; sister, Michelle Woerth of Columbus, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Joshlynn Pohlman, June Joy Pohlman, Jaycee Wiese, and husband, Pedro Grado. She was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Randolph Pohlman.
