Rev. Ronald Ervin Harvill, age 64, husband of Alice Tucker Harvill and a resident of West Hardin Drive in Columbia passed away at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11am in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Proctor and Dr. Carl Duck officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home from 4-8pm. Interment will be Sunday at 3pm at Hornbeak Cemetery in Greenfield, TN with Rev. Gerald Smith officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge and assisting the family with arrangements. Ronald was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of the late Lester E. and Irene Carothers Harvill. He was a pharmacist, having owned the Drug Center, and worked at Revco, CVS, and Freds. He was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church. Ronald loved the outdoors, enjoying traveling, golfing, fishing, boating, and hunting. He also enjoyed watching old movies on television. But most of all he loved his family and his dear pets. Along with his wife Alice, Ronald left behind to cherish his memory 3 sons: John Harvill of Murfreesboro, TN, Dean (Heather) Harvill of Columbia, TN, and Mark (Samantha) Harvill of Columbia, TN; brother: Dennis (Susan) Harvill of Indiana; 2 grandchildren: Nathan and Jessica Harvill. Pallbearers will be John, Dean, Mark, Nathan, and Kyle Harvill, and Thomas Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Good News Sunday school class at Highland Park Baptist Church, Jack Cunningham, and members of the Hickman County High School, class of 1965.
