Mrs. Helen Spain Rose Cox, age 59, wife of Jerry Cox and a resident of Bigby Drive in Columbia, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bob Vassar officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 AM until the Memorial hour. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and assisting the family. A native of Columbia, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon & Helen Rose. She was a graduate from Central High School and attended Columbia State following high school graduation. She had worked as a Seamstress for Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing and was a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and lived her life by the 'Golden Rule'. Her family fondly recalled her love and devotion to them and to others as well. She was a very talented and gifted woman and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She especially loved to make things for others. Her grandkids held a very special place in her heart and she always put others before herself. Her outgoing personality and love for family was an inspiration to many. Her kindness and devotion will be greatly missed. In addition to her husband Jerry, she left behind to cherish her memory her son, Brian (Tina) Cox of Columbia, TN; her daughter, Kristen (John) Burks of Columbia, TN; a sister, Marie (James) Gilliam of Maryville, TN; and her four loving grandchildren: Cierra Burks, Aubrey Cox, Shayne Burks, and Jordyn Burks.
