Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, age 95, widow of Edward Williams, and a resident of Martin Drive in Columbia, TN passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Signature Health Care. She shared her life with Mr. Williams in Detroit for 50 plus years and when her health failed moved to Columbia, TN. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 10 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday August 9 from 4 " 7 PM in the Hunter Room of Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. Born on April 6, 1917 in Hampshire, TN, Elizabeth was the daughter of the Late John O. Bullock and the late Georgiana Dobbins Bullock. She was a member of Northwest Church of Christ in Detroit, Michigan and was a retired teacher from Detroit Public Schools. She was very active in her church and involved in various church activities. She loved to travel to church events and entertain ministers as well as her family and friends. One of her favorite passages in the Bible was Psalm 51. She loved her family and opened her doors to help people. Her family described her as being very outgoing and friendly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her nephew and Godson: Wendell (Polly) Walker of Columbia, TN; brother: Tommy Bullock of Pittsburg, PA; three sisters: Johanna Bullock Price of Seattle, WA, Sallie Bullock Pulse of Indianapolis, IN, Sue Bullock Lindsey of Indianapolis, IN; aunt: Betty Webster; granddaughter: Daborah Bullock Arnold of Detroit, MI; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters: Louise Bullock Price, Thelma Bullock Mcune, Janie Lou Bullock Liles; two brothers: Jim Bullock, and Walter Larry Bullock. Elizabeth's nephews will serve as pallbearers. Her nieces will serve as flower girls. Honorary Pallbearers will be Curtis Booker, Mr. and Mrs. Bee (Neighbors of Detroit, Michigan), Kenneth Price, Annie W. Warfield, Deidra B. Goodman, Northwest Church of Christ, Dry Fork Church of Christ, area wide churches of Christ, and the East Hill Community. You may send condolences to the family at the top of this page.
