Michael "Steve" Love

January 31, 1956 - October 19, 2011

Mr. Steve Love, age 55, a resident of Campbellsville Pike in Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Mr. Love will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Webb, Rev. Bill Webb and Russ Adcock officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. Born in Lewis County, Tennessee, he was the son of Bobby W. Love and Betty Webb Love. He was a graduate of MTSU following his high school graduation from Central High School in Columbia. He served our country with the United States Navy from 1974 to 1975. He worked as a graphic artist with Sanders Manufacturing Company and he was a member of the Maury Hills Church. He was an avid chess player and was nationally ranked. He liked the outdoors and especially fishing and he enjoyed Nascar. Although he had many interests, his family stated that his favorite sport was "aggravating the nephews and nieces". His sense of humor and presence will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Steve left behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Jillian Marie Love of Spartanburg, SC; his sister, Sherry (Quintin) Sprouse of Columbia, TN; his brother, Roger (Pam Harrington King of Columbia, TN) Love of Murfreesboro, TN; nephews and nieces: Natalie (Johnathon) Counts of Columbia, TN, Nicole Rowe of Atlanta, GA, Nicki (Tommy) Counts of Columbia, TN, Kristen Sanders of Lawrenceburg, TN, Scott (Erica) Love of Nashville, TN, Alex Love of Murfreesboro, TN, great nephews and great nieces: Bryce Sanders of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jaylin Counts of Columbia, TN, Sebastian Fletcher of Columbia, TN, Anna Love of Nashville, TN, and Cayden Counts of Columbia, TN. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, W.K. Webb and Lillian Warren Webb of Hohenwald, TN and his paternal grandparents W.M. Love and Lou Willie Johnson Love of Hampshire, TN. Pallbearers will include: Johnathon Counts, Scott Love, Ricky Primm, James Davis, Quintin Sprouse, and Ray Brewer. Memorials may be made to the Maury Hills Church Building Fund.
