Virginia Albert Cochran, age 98 of Nashville, passed away in the early hours of September 13, 2012.

Private services and inurnment will be in the St. James United Methodist Church niche, in Atlanta, Georgia, at a later date. The family is being assisted by Heritage Funeral Home.

Born in Oreana, Illinois, Mrs. Cochran resided for many years in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a long-time member of St. James United Methodist Church, where she was amember of the United Trinity Sunday School and the Unity Circle.

Mrs. Cochran had a zest for life and was active in many organizations, including the Green Acres Garden Club and the Key to the City Club of Atlanta. In the latter organization, Mrs. Cochran acted in plays sponsored by the club and participated in the club's many civic activities. She was employed for a number of yeras by Neiman-Marcus in Atlanta, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She had many friends and enjoyed playing bridge as well as attending the threater and concerts. She had a lifetime love of music and was an accomplished pianist. In early adulthood, she managed the record department at Emerson's Department Store in Decatur, Illinois.

For the last four years of her life, Mrs. Cochran lived in Nashville, TN to be near her daughter.

Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her mother: Maude Maxwell Albert; her father: William Albert: and her brother: Ward M. Albert. She is survived by her daughter: Linda Cochran of Franklin, TN.
