Mr. Jimmy Jim Dale Olmstead, age 59, a former resident of Lawrence County passed away in Bedford County (Bell Buckle). A Memorial Visitation Service will be held on Friday, November 04, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Hunter Room. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge and assisting the family with the arrangements. A native of Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Willie Edward Olmstead and the late Emma (Cannon) Olmstead. He served in the National Guard for eight years and worked for Reeds Services of Manchester. He was a very loving man who had varied interests in life. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and also participated in the sport of Lawnmower Racing. He also worked with Crews Brothers Farms as a truck driver and enjoyed working with the land and farming. He had a very special companion, his poodle Tank . Mans Best friend was truly the case with Jim and Tank. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and Tank. Jim left behind to cherish his memory three sons: Jamie (Melanie) Dale Olmstead of Summertown, TN, Joshua Shane Olmstead of TX, and Joseph Matthew Olmstead of TX; two daughters: Shannon Lee (Joe) Luke of Hampshire, TN and Elizabeth Ann (Donald) McConnell of Lynnville, TN; his first wife, Connie S. Olmstead of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a brother Tommy Olmstead of Murfreesboro, TN and three sisters: Debbie (Dave) Graves of Murfreesboro, TN, Becky Pruitt of Manchester, TN and Peggy Hampton of Portland, TN; special niece and nephew Carlisa and Ronnie Reed of Manchester, TN; a very special friend, Roy Halsell of Murfreesboro, TN; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren and last but definitely not least, his faithful companion Tank . In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Butch Olmstead.
