Mrs. Juanita H. Morris (Joe), age 87, a resident of Habersham Road in Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A private family Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date in Albemarle, North Carolina. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Morris was the daughter of the late John Robert Huneycutt and the late Minnie Helms Huneycutt. She truly loved and served the Lord. During her active years she served as a youth leader, Sunday School Teacher, and was a Sunday School class member for many decades. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Past Worthy Matron of Lovelady Chapter No.147, District 22, The Grand Order of the Easter Star. She served as a live-in Cottage Parent and Counselor at Stonewall Jackson School Concord, NC, and at Swannanoa, NC. Her loving and caring ways will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Preston) Morris Blackmon, six grandchildren: Susan (Rick) Jordan Dyar, Paige Jordan Glenn, Kimberly (George) King Bennett, Dr. J. Wayne King, II, Randy Blackmon, Douglas (Stephanie) Blackmon; eleven great grandchildren: Linda (Lindy) Kathryne Bennett, George Logan Bennett, Lillian King Bennett, Jordan Dyar, Grant Dyar, Caroline Dyar, Alijah Glenn, Jonah Glenn, Lauren Blackmon, Mark Douglas Blackmon, Allie Blackmon; one sister, Sandra Lucas; two sisters-in-law: Kathleen (Jerry) Morris Long and Hazel (Eugene) Morris. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband or 71 years, Joe Glenn Morris, brother, John Wade Huneycutt and one daughter, Brenda Morris Jordan. Preston and Linda wish to offer a special thank you to the staff at Morning Pointe Assisted Living. Also much gratitude to Dr. Stephen Simmons, to the Emergency staff and nurses at Maury Regional Medical Center, the staff on the 3rd floor and the SNU for the care, patience and respect given in caring for Mrs. Morris. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Columbia, TN or Boys and Girls Club of Maury County, 210 W. 8th Street, Columbia, TN 38401.
