John Roland Moore, Jr.

April 26, 1938 - October 19, 2011

Mr. John Moore, Jr., age 73, husband of Anita Moore and a resident of Daley Street in Summertown, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life Service will be held by his family at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. Born in Hammond, Indiana he was the son of the late John Roland Moore, Sr. and the late Etta Barnes Moore. He served in the United States Army and retired as a diesel mechanic with Osco in Columbia, Tennessee. He attended Park Grove Baptist Church. In talking with his family it was evident that he was a kind and gentle man. He was enjoying fixing up his l964 Ford pickup truck. He was a flea market and yard sale enthusiast. He truly loved animals and Chihuahuas in particular. Along with his loving family, his favorite dog, Peanutbutter was by his side when he passed. He will truly be missed by all his friends and family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Moore left behind to cherish his memory a son, David Moore of Chattanooga, TN; a step daughter, Shelly Rizzardi of Hohenwald, TN; three sisters: Sharon Romine of Anderson, IN, Carol Liddier of Elizabethtown, KY, and Ruth Puchi of Anderson, IN; two brothers, Bob Moore of Peru, IN and Redge Moore of OK, two half brothers: Tim Moore of Alenay, IN and Ron Moore of VA; and one granddaughter, Brittany Moore.
