William Troy Whatley

February 23, 1958 - August 29, 2011

Mr. William Troy Whatley, age 53, a resident of Thomas Avenue in Columbia, Tennessee and the husband of Tina Annette Whatley, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. A Memorial Service for Mr. Whatley will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM at West 7th Church of Christ in Columbia with Robyn Wadley officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. A native of Harvey, Illinois, he was the son of Billy Gray Whatley and the late Annie Ruth Beard Whatley. He attended Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He was a self employed roofer. He was a very loving family man who had a heart of gold. He showed compassion to everyone and his outgoing, friendly, personality afforded him many friends. He will truly be missed by all of his friends and family. In addition to his wife and father, he left behind to cherish his memory one son, Allan Carter (Jennifer) Whaley of Columbia, TN; one step-son, John Eastep, Jr.( "J.J." ); one step-daughter, Brandy Eastep; two brothers: John Whatley and Christopher (Lisa) Whatley both of Park Forest, IL; two sisters: Theresa (Paul) Schafer of Merriville, IL and Janice Whatley of Steger, IL; six grandchildren: Ryan Eastep, Hannah Eastep, Cameron Eastep, Colby Whatley, Samuel Carter Whatley, and Zachary Conner Whatley; his in-laws: Wesley & Faye Scott of Columbia, TN; brothers-in-law: Tim, Tony, Danny, & Ricky Eastep; many nieces and nephews; and we cannot fail to mention his best friend of 52 years, Alfred Cortez.
