Douglas "Wayne" Brewer

March 31, 1945 - July 4, 2012

Mr. Douglas W. Brewer age 67, husband of Patricia Brewer, and a resident of Culleoka, TN passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 7 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Centerville. The family will visit with friends on Friday, July 6 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the Hunter Room of Heritage Funeral Home, and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. A native of Hickman County, Douglas was the son of the late Carlos Brewer and Annie Luvennia Powell Brewer, and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and camping and any opportunity to be outside. Douglas never met a stranger. He enjoyed sitting in his wheelchair and waving at people as they drove by. A great joy he had was making other people laugh. One of his favorite things to do was watching his son race his car, and playing with his beloved dog, Diamond. In addition to his wife: Patricia; he is survived by his son: Douglas Michael "Mike" Brewer of Culleoka, TN; a sister: Laverne (Charles) Atkinson of Nunnelly, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and four brothers. Donations to help the family with funeral expenses can be made to Heritage Funeral Home.
