Thomas Richard Chism, Sr.

March 13, 1941 - July 15, 2011

Mr. Thomas Richard Chism, Sr., age 70 and a resident of Lookout Drive in Columbia and husband of Patricia Chism, died early Friday morning, July 15, 2011, at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg following an extended illness. Memorial Services for Mr. Chism will be held at 6:00PM Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, Roscoe Stephens officiating. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Rebecca Byrd and Kathleen Caraglio of Chapel Hill, Melissa Hahnert of Norman, OK, Thomas Richard Chism, Jr. of Woodstock, VT, and Susan Cushion of Columbia; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Chism was an accomplished businessman who worked in the insurance industry for many decades. He enjoyed playing golf, reading and loved to sing. He was also an avid sports fan who followed St. Louis Cardinals baseball and the Tennessee Titans. He enjoyed traveling whether for work or play and had the opportunity to see much of our great country during his lifetime as well as other parts of the world. He was a member of the Masonic Order and the Elks Club.
