Mr. Larry Dean "Rinky Dink" Dobbins, age 61, a resident of Nowlin Road in Columbia, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10-11AM. The body will lie in state in the Hunter Room of Heritage Funeral Home from 11AM-7PM on Friday, January 17, 2014. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Maury County, Rinky Dink was born on September 16, 1952. He enjoyed watching Nascar and washing and detailing his car, but he especially loved watching football. His most favorite football teams were the UT Vols and the Tennessee Titans. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, and he often called his kids on Sunday to check on them and see how they were doing. Rinky Dink loved all of his family, and they all loved him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife: Sandra Dobbins and Roberta Dobbins of Columbia; sister: Doris (William "Boo Boo") Claude of Columbia; children: Lacey Dobbins of Columbia, Steve Galloway of Columbia, Larry (Stacey) Woodson of Columbia, Latasha Dobbins of Alabama, Jason Dobbins of Maury County, Marcus Hill of Columbia, Renae (Andre) Motton of Arkansas, Edward (Mary) Hill of Columbia, Chris Harper of Nashville, Cassandra Dobbins of Mt. Pleasant; step-children: Cassandra (Montra) Tucker of Chattanooga, Montrelle Starks of Murfreesboro, Marrecus Gregory of Columbia; father: Robert Warfield of Louisville, Kentucky; nephews: Corie (Angie) Claude, Brandon (Priscilla) Claude; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother: Marcia Dobbins; grandmother: Pokie Dobbins; and grandfather: Eugene Dobbins. Pallbearers will be Rodney Bills, Maurice Bills, Brandon Claude, Corie Claude, Jeffery Frierson, and Montra Tucker. Columbia Central High School class of 1971 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
