Ms. Betty Jo Anderson Rogers, age 65, and a resident of Quail Hollow on Williamsport Pike in Columbia, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 unexpectedly at her home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 12 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the noon time service. Steve Russell and Patricia McDonald will be officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Betty Jo will be remembered most by her loving nature and kindness towards animals. She would feed and take care of all the neighbors cats and dogs like they were her own. She attended Santa Fe High School and she also loved being outside and taking care of all her flowers. She had a heart of gold, helping anyone that needed it. She always showed great warmth and kindness towards others. She was a member of Grace Nazarene Church. Betty never met a stranger and loved working with the public especially at the Jumbo House. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was so beloved, her friends said; thank you Lord for giving us Betty. Betty Jo left behind to cherish her memory two sons: Randy Anderson of Columbia, TN, and Ricky Anderson of AZ. and she is survived by several cousins in Columbia and thru out Maury County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Rogers, her mother, Mamie Hay Atkisson, her father, Bea Atkisson, and her grandparents Jim and Johana Hutcherson Hay.
