Mrs. Dorothy Johnson Dot Southall, age 92, wife of the late Harold Turner Southall and a former resident of Booker Farm Road in Hampshire, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, January 02, 2011 at NHC Hillview in Columbia, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Southall will be held in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:30 PM with Mike Gillstrap officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbia, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, from 4:00 " 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Southall was a native of Maury County, Tennessee and the daughter of the late Newt Haley Johnson and the late Susie Alice Martin. She was member of Hampshire United Methodist Church and a member of the UMW Society. She retired as a sales lady at McClellans Variety Store. She had a love for her family, and the staff at NHC Hillview referred to her as a sweet lady that they would miss . She left behind to cherish her memory one son: James Turner Jimmy Southall of Cross Bridges, TN; five grandchildren: Melissa (Gary) Oglesby of Huntsville, AL; Randy (Kelli) Southall of Ethridge, TN; Hunter Freemont, Kara Southall, and Kelsy Southall; along with several nieces and nephews including: Jane (Charles) McPeak of Cross Bridges, TN and Dorris (Allen) Savage of Columbia, TN. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Johnnie Mae Whitaker, and two brothers; Clarence Johnson and Claude M. Johnson. Pallbearers will be Phillip Griffith, Kenny Cecil, Edward Moore, Ray Holden, Kevin Raymer, Billy Walker, J.T. Duncan, and H. Douglas Church Honorary pallbearers will be staff at Hillview Health Care, friends of the Hampshire Community, and Booker Farm Road friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hampshire United Methodist Church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heritage-fhcs.com
