Mr. Robert Neal Wall, age 81, loving husband of Ruth Wall and a well known resident of the Knob Creek community passed away on Friday, March 04, 2011 at his home on Arthur Hutcherson Road in Columbia, Tennessee. Funeral Services for Mr. Wall will be held on Sunday, March 06, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Anthony Muston officiating. Interment will follow in the Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, March 05, 2011 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Sunday from noon until the funeral hour. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A native of Williamson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Wall and the late Christine (Priest) Wall. He faithfully served his country from 1951 to 1953 as a Sergeant with the Marine Corp and then he began his true calling in life; a family man. He formerly worked for Southern Sash of Columbia and was co-owner of Wall Bros Building Supply. His faith in God and his love for Gods people enabled him to serve as chairman of the deacons of the Knob Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years. He joined the church in 1938 in Nashville and then was a member of the Knob Creek Baptist church since 1945. Mr. Wall had many interests and passions throughout his 81 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 19, a member of the Maury County Horsemans Association, he served on the Maury County Water Board and also on the Maury County Park Board. His outgoing, fun loving personality will truly be missed by all of his friends and family. He truly enjoyed going to horse shows, especially the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration in Shelbyville each year. He also enjoyed attending all of the Mule Day festivities, and really anything where some good fellowship and good eatin was involved. As his boys were growing up, anything that they took an interest in; so did he. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. In addition to his faithful wife of 61 years, Mr. Wall left behind to cherish his memory two sons: Michael Neal (Linda) Wall of Columbia, TN and David Alan (Pam) Wall of Santa Fe, TN; one brother, Charles Wall of Murfreesboro, TN; two sisters: Doris Huff of Columbia, and Janice (Bobby) Gaskell of Santa Fe; three sister-in-laws: Ramona (Jimmy) Jones of Columbia, Jean Warf and Betty Skelley both of Santa Fe, and one brother-in-law, Clyde (Billie Ann) Skelley of Santa Fe; four grandchildren: Lola Michele (Bo) Malone of Murfreesboro, Megan Renee (Alan) Lindsey of Columbia, Joshua Alan (Maeghan) Wall of Columbia, TN, and Robert Michael Wall of Columbia; eight great-grandchildren: Lilly, Brewer, and Benton Wall, Ruthie Belle and Audrey Pearl Lindsey, Emily Merritt, and Tim and Finnegan Malone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Carroll Wall. Pallbearers will be Josh Wall, Robert Wall, Alan Lindsey, Bo Malone, Larry Chunn, and Tim Scott. Honorary Pallbearers include: Calvin Cheek, Donnie Walters, Gerald Martin, Harvell Stockard, Mike Shouse, Marlin Arnold, Danny Fox, David Pigg, Larry Weaver, The Knob Creek Baptist Church Family and the friends and neighbors of the Knob Creek Community.
