June 11, 1924 - January 21, 2011

Bro. Jack Berry Happy Jack Rampley, age 86, father of Betty (Jimmy) Sloan and a resident of Columbia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 21, 2011 at NHC Hillview. Graveside Services will be held for Mr. Rampley on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta, GA. The family will visit with friends Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM Tuesday, January 25, 2011 until the time of service at Music Funeral Services, 2831 North Valdosta Road in Valdosta, GA. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Bro. Rampley was born in Milledgeville, GA on June 11, 1924 to the late Jim B. and Ila Bell (Stancil) Rampley. He was an ordained minister and served as an evangelist for more than 50 years. Most of his friends knew him as Happy Jack . For those who wonder why he would have such a nickname, it was simply because of his joyful, happy personality. In addition to preaching, he was also a talented singer. During his life he recorded two albums and traveled preaching and singing to many about his love for the Lord. His outgoing personality led him to a love for buying and selling cars in which he found great fulfillment and success, but once again, nothing could compare to his genuine love for the Lord. Bro. Rampley left to cherish his memory: daughter, Betty Ann (Jimmy) Sloan of Columbia, TN; sons, Steve Rampley and Gary Rampley of Valdosta, GA and Roger Rampley of Merritt Island, FL; grandchildren, Betty Alice Rampley Brown, Jenny Kirkland, Christy Leann Sloan, Stephanie Rampley, Jessica Marie Sloan, Luke Rampley, Christopher Rampley and James Clifton Sloan; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Pitts of Valdosta, GA and Voncile Greene of Adel, GA.He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Sims Rampley.
