Mrs. Emaly G. Carpenter, age 62, wife of James Carpenter and a resident of Wade Brown Rd in Lewisburg, Tennessee, and retired employee of Keith Baker Homes Inc. in Columbia, died on Wednesday, September 01, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Carpenter will be conducted on Friday, September 03, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Keith Baker and Rev. Butch Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery in the Verona Community. The family will receive guests on Thursday, September 02, 2010 from 5:00--7:30 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Marshall County, Tennessee, Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of Evelyn Luna Phifer and the late Bennie A. Phifer. Mrs. Carpenter was formerly an employee with Teledyne in Lewisburg, and in 2008, she retired from Keith Baker Homes Inc. where she faithfully served as the Service Manager. She was a member of Westview Church of Christ. Included in her lifes great achievements were: 2004 Most Loyal and Dedicated Employee Award from Keith Baker Homes, Inc; in 2005 she was recognized by Fleetwood Homes as the Customer Satisfaction Specialist of Tennessee . Mrs. Carpenter enjoyed reading, fishing, traveling, and the real joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren. Her family fondly recalls her incredible sense of humor and the pleasure she brought to all who knew her. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carpenter left behind to cherish her memories one daughter, Rhonda (Robert) Himes of Lewisburg, Tennessee; one sister, Edna (Dooney) Thomas of Lewisburg, Tennessee; and three grandchildren: Alex Mendoza, Mercedez Mendoza, and Max Himes. Mrs. Carpenter also leaves behind several nieces & nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ross Pruitt III and a sister, Benita Gale Mangrum. Active Pallbearers will be: Eric Jones, Charlie Lewis, Ron Kelley, Donnie Carpenter, Robert Himes, Jeremy Baker, Bobby Dunnivant, Tim Ashley, and Bill Thomas. Honorary Guests will include, Dr. Jon Freels, Brooke Baker Hensley, Danny and Joy Davidson, Pam Arnett, Kay Walker, and past and present employees of Keith Baker Homes, Inc. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN 37203.
