Mr. Jerry Eugene Owens,67, husband of Fay Owens and a resident of Gravel Hill Road in Columbia, Tennessee, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee. Funeral Services for Mr. Owens will be conducted on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 1:00 p m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. J.O. Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. " 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. A native of Columbia, Tennessee, Mr. Owens was the son of the late Burton Owens and the late Alberta Walls. His occupation in life was a mechanic. He was a family man who loved bird watching and his outdoor animals. His family fondly recalls his particular interest in the hummingbirds and how he would name each animal. He was known for never meeting a stranger and for his great sense of humor. In addition to his wife, he left behind to cherish his memory two daughters: Pamela Fay Owens of Culleoka, TN and Tammy Owens of Dickison, TN; two sons: Terry (Marsha) Owens of Columbia, TN, and Kevin Owens of Columbia, TN; ten grandchildren: Cody Blhumn, Kayla LeMay, Tiffeny LeMay, Davey Owens, Jason Owens, Devin Owens, Damien Potts, Jerry Owens, Jesse Owens, and baby Matthew; and one brother Joe Alvin Peach of Nashville, TN. In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Dorman. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
