Levi Cornelius

Mr. Marion Levi Cornelius, 77, died Thursday, February 14, 2008, at his residence on Loyd Circle in Summertown. Funeral Services for Mr. Cornelius will be conducted Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Ezell Rose and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday, February 15, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, and from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church. The Lawrence County, Alabama native was the son of the late Elmer N. and Gladys Borden Cornelius. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Ann Lane Cornelius. Mr. Cornelius was retired from Tennessee Aluminum Processors in Mt. Pleasant as a mechanic, and was a former employee of Conalco in Columbia. His passion was farming, and he was an avid fisherman and gardener, giving away most everything he raised or caught. He was a member of the church of Christ. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; daughters: Linda (Daniel) Bobo, of Summertown; Patricia Blair, of Columbia; Shirley Graham, of Columbia; Sandra Sandy (Jerry) Phillips of Glenrose, TX; Joannie (Gary) Shively of Columbia; Kathy LeBoeut of Summertown; Melissa (Tim) Cannady of Summertown; sons: L. D. (Portia) Cornelius of Summertown; Bobby Cornelius of Summertown; Gerry Cornelius of Culleoka; sisters, Cassie Wooden of Florence, AL; Deborah King of Molton, AL; brothers: Rual (Joan) Cornelius of Huntsville, AL; Johnny (Julie) Cornelius of LaGrange, AL: grandchildren; Randy Cornelius, Josh Cornelius, Christopher Cornelius, Shawna (Dewayne) Estes, Melissa (Tim) Cannady, Steven Cornelius, Rose Kennedy, Sharon (Todd) Gagnard; B. J. Spires; Beth (Steven) Flewallen; Tommy (Candice) Andrews; Alicia Andrews, Mandy Benderman, Jennifer Benderman, Nellie Benderman, Laura (Shannon) Martinez Crystal Ritchee, Brian (Leah) Ritchee, Matthew Shively;,Michelle (Brian) Olson, Chris Shively, Philip Shively; Several Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Graham; brothers, Charlie, Jack, Bill, Billy, Jimmy, Dub and Marvin Cornelius; sister, Lassie Fay Cornelius. Pallbearers will be Matthew Shively, Randy Cornelius, Tommy Andrews, Christopher Cornelius, B. J. Spires, and Daniel Bobo. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Lemay, Mark Owens, David Putnam, Charles Tubby Porkeney, Aaron Burks, Frank Ellis, employees and former employees of Tennessee Aluminum Processors, and the staff of Hospice of the Highland Rim.
