Mr. Richard Truman Ragsdale, 64, formerly of the Santa Fe Community and a resident of School Street in Columbia, died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Mr. Ragsdale will be conducted on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Georgina Bearden officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Maury County, he was the son of the late Jessie and Bessie Kelley Ragsdale. He was married to the late Wanda Lee Sanders Ragsdale. Mr. Ragsdale was a former supervisor at Weather Tamer, and a former employee of Cooks Pest Control. He was retired owner and operator of Maury Landscaping and Columbia Nursery. Mr. Ragsdale loved going to The Briarpatch in Cornersville. He loved playing his guitar, enjoyed singing, and was a huge country music fan. Mr. Ragsdale is survived by four daughters, Trudy Hinson of Columbia, Teresa Mason of the Leipers Fork Community, Alice Underwood of Columbia, and Susie Wood of Columbia; four granddaughters, Jennifer ( Mike) Sullivan of Columbia, April (Justin) Whittaker of Louisiana, Susanne Stephens of Columbia, and Caylee Renee Hinson, his pride and joy, of Columbia; three grandsons, Danny Ray Stephens, Tyler Wood, and Alan Dooley, all of Columbia; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Esther Mae (R. L. ) Potts of Jefferson City, Omie (Larry) Potts of Santa Fe, Iris Kelley of Columbia, Kathy (Paul) Wray of Mt. Pleasant, Sheila (William) Kuner of Gadsden, AL, Cynthia (Tom) Floyd of Columbia; one brother, Kenneth (Linda) Ragsdale of Summertown; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Kathryn Hogan of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Ray Ragsdale; a grandson, Adam Mason; sisters, Dorothy Marie Scalfani, Narvie McCandless; brothers, James Ragsdale, Frank Ragsdale, Doug Ragsdale. Pallbearers will be Danny Stephens, Tyler Wood, Tim Brady, Al Hogan, Mike Sullivan, Robert Johnson, Jeff Hogan, and Alan Dooley. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Bowden, his coffee drinking friends at McDonalds, and all his dancing buddies .
