Mrs. Mary Francis Isabell King Demastus, 91, homemaker and long-time resident of the Glendale and Culleoka Communities, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Demastus will be conducted Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Ezell Rose and Hueston Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery in Giles County. The family will visit with friends Friday, September 25, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Maury County native was affectionately known as Maybe by her close friends and family. She was the daughter of the late Buford Isabell and Minnie Webb Isabell of Mt. Pleasant. She was first married to the late Ulian King and later married to the late Howard Sleepy Demastus for 32 years. She attended Scribners Mill Church of Christ and Culleoka Church of Christ for a number of years. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (Floyd) Norman of Culleoka; her son, Joe (Sandy) King of Milton, Florida; three granddaughters, Angela Colvett of Mt. Pleasant, Sherry Norman of Spring Hill, Amanda (Roger) Maker of Milton, Florida; one grandson, Scott (Andrea) King of Spotsylvania, Virginia; two great-granddaughters, Alicen King of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Libby Maker of Milton, Florida; one great grandson, Jason (Heather) Hardison and two great-great grandsons, Ethan and Eli Hardison, all of Culleoka; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Huey and Bethel Hubbell and one brother, J. R. Isabell. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family especially thanks Dr. Hrishi Kanth, the staff of Sterling House, and the nursing staff of the Alzheimers Unit of Life Care Center of Columbia for their care and assistance.
