Burnis Charles Sonny Parker, 66, of Mooresville Pike in Columbia, Tennessee, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. The Corpus Christi, Texas native, was the son of the late Lois Adams and the late Burnis Parker. His occupation was a Trim Carpenter and he was of the Baptist faith. Burnis was a loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved wood working and taking trips to the beach. In addition to his wife, Catherine Kitty Parker, also left to cherish his memory are his three sons: Burnis Charles Parker, Jr., Todd Wayne Parker, and Chad Allen Parker, all of Baton Rouge Louisiana; four daughters: Selena (Michael) Gilcrease of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Kimberly (Adam) Silvas of Temple Georgia; Amanda (Heath) Coyle of Lewisburg, Tennessee; and Lindsey B. Parker of Columbia, Tennessee; and three brothers: L. Mitchell Parker of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Billy Wayne Parker of Princeton, West Virginia; and Craig Allen Parker of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. A private time of remembrance and celebration of his life will be held by his loving family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee 37203-2003.
