Dwight Gil Hoover, 58, a resident of Lookout Drive in Columbia, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hoover will be Friday, August 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 4:00"9:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A native of South Lyon, Michigan, Mr. Hoover was the son of the late Mackie Hoover and Vonnie Richardson Hoover. He was married to Debra Eller Hoover for thirty-four joyous years. He had retired from General Motors Corporation in Spring Hill, Tennessee, where he had worked for thirty years as an Operations Technician. Mr. Hoover currently worked at Target as Stock Clerk and Cashier. He was a retired member of UAW Local 1853, and a past member of UAW Local 735 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Mr. Hoover was very patriotic, he loved his country, and loved his Lord. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church. While his hobbies were fishing and golf, Mr. Hoover especially loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Hoover is survived by two daughters, April Lynn (Derek) Crawford and Rachel Marie Hoover, both of Columbia, Tennessee; a son, Nathan Dwight (Rachel) Hoover of Spring Hill, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Grace Emily Crawford and Trinity Abigail Hoover; a grandson, Troy Alexander Hoover; three sisters, Brenda (Paul) Sprinkles, Sue (Bill) Cottongim, Delores (Troy) Cottongim, all of Michigan; three brothers, Bill (Carrie) Hoover, Sam (Chris) Hoover, and Rod (Kelly) Hoover, all of Michigan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Hoover, Derek Crawford, Rod Hoover, Rick Jezowski, Bill Hoover, Ron Eller, and Max Eller. Honorary guests will be men of Harvest Baptist Church.
