Tommy Dixon Baker, 59, a resident of Potts Hollow Road in the Lyles community, died unexpectedly at his home, Thursday, April 8, 2010.

Funeral Services for Mr. Baker will be conducted Monday, April 12, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with the discourse being held by Gerald Yocom. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 3:00 " 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Columbia, Tennessee, he is the son of Frances M. Fitzgerald Baker of Manchester, and the late Bugg Baker. He is a 1968 graduate of Spring Hill High School. Mr. Baker is married to Connie Lee Blackburn Baker, who survives. Mr. Baker was a plumber, and employed by Meyers Plumbing Company of Nashville. He was a former employee of Tomahawk Construction at the Saturn Plant where he was a foreman, and a former employee of Paul Hasty Plumbing in Franklin. Mr. Baker proudly served our country in the U. S. National Guard. He was fun-loving and was always laughing, loved his family, and was very devoted to them. He loved his pets and was known to be a pet rescuer. Mr. Baker enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching old western movies. He is a Brother of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness of Centerville.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Ben (Jenifer) Mathews of Bonifay, FL; two grandchildren, Brandon Lee Carter and Payton Savannah Carter, both of Bonifay, FL two brothers, Jerry (Mary) Baker of Williamsport and Curtis (Edna) Baker of Estill Springs; two sisters, Vicki Decker and Carolyn (Michael) Cyree, both of Manchester; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Blackburn (Robert) Bishop of Columbia; his father-in-law, Baxter Blackburn of Columbia; sister-in-laws, Cathy (Mark) Perryman and Rhonda (Bill) Krambs, both of Columbia; brother-in-laws, Randy (Brenda) Blackburn and Barry (Benida) Blackburn, both of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Angela Diane Wells; a nephew, Billy (Little Bill) Bumbalough; grandparents, Jim and Ruby Fitzgerald and Curtis and Essie Baker. Pallbearers will be C.J. Baker, Richie Baker, James Reed, Curtis Reed, Bucky Roland, Sam Gray, Bill Krombs, Justin Lowery, Curtis Casteel, and Cody Blackburn. Honorary Guests will be the Brothers of Jehovahs Witness of Centerville and Columbia, and the Bull Jags of Theta. Memorials may be made to The Humane Society of the United States, Dept.
