Mr. John Travis Kelley, 62, husband of Amy Parham Kelley and a resident of Fairmont Drive, died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Mr. Kelley will be conducted Wednesday, July 22, 2009, 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, 609 Bear Creek Pike with Keith Baker, Kirk Brothers and Stephen Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens, Garden of Hope. Military Honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin, American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Maury County, he was the son of Dorothy Dot Barham Kelley and the late R. M. Kelley. He attended Shady Grove and Woodrow schools, and was a 1965 graduate of Spring Hill High School. He served our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. In 1979, he married Amy Parham, who survives. He was a former employee of Triangle Auto Springs and was also employed by manufacturers of the mobile home industry. In 1985, he began his career at Keith Baker Homes as a sales manager, and was named the Number One Salesperson for 18 years. He was recognized as the top salesperson for the Fleetwood Product Line of Homes, in the state of Tennessee for 20 years, and won many prestigious awards for his dedication to customer satisfaction. In March 2006, he retired from Keith Baker Homes after 21 years of service. Mr. Kelley enjoyed gardening, woodworking, especially furniture, and was a fan of NASCAR, U.T. Vols and Tennessee Titans, and most recently built his own dune buggy. He previously owned Rock Away Haven Farm, where he was active in training Tennessee Walking Horses. In 2002, 2003, and 2006, he served as President for the Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association, and has served as a judge for the S.H.B.E.A. His faith was Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, John (Sarah) Travis Kelley, Jr. of Knoxville; twin grandchildren, Madison and Andrew Kelley of Knoxville; father-in-law, Luther Parham of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Kelley; grandparents, Dean and Dixie Kelley, John and Estelle Barham; and mother-in-law, Nancy Parham. Pallbearers will be Harry Dean Hobbs, David Oliver, Michael Gaines, Ron Kelley, Torey Kelley, Darrell Potts, Jeremy Baker, Dewayne Sullivan, and Nathan Curtis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Peggy Oliver, Van Boshers, Danny Davidson, Tony Endsley, Gerry Cornelius, Charlie Lewis, Past and Present Employees of Keith Baker Homes, Neighbors of Steelebrook Subdivision, Friends of the Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association, Management and Sales Representatives of Fleetwood, North River, Franklin, Southridge, and Pinnacle Homes, CCU Nursing Staff at Maury Regional Medical Center, Glenn Gilmore, Tommy Williams, Doyle Hasty, Dr. Jon Freels, and Dr. Ben High.
