Benny Ray Burgett, 68, retired foreman with Osco Environmental Company, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at his residence on Mooresville Pike in the Culleoka Community, surrounded by his family who stayed by his side during his extended illness. Funeral Services for Mr. Burgett will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Johnson and Pastor Clark Albright officiating. Burial will follow in the Potts Cemetery in Kinderhook Community. The family will visit with friends on Friday, May 28, 2010 from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Maury County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Robert and Sara Massey Burgett. He was married to Janice Potts Burgett, who survives. In addition to being a foreman, he was a welder, carpenter, and loved wood-working. Mr. Burgett loved fishing, hunting and animals. He collected antiques, and enjoyed furniture restoration. Mr. Burgett always put his family first and wanted the best for them, especially his wife. He was a member of Elmore Nazarene Church in Primm Springs. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: daughters, Barbara (Henry) Harris of Summertown, TN, Carlene (Mark) Landers of Culleoka, TN, Beverly Calvert of Culleoka, TN; son, Tim Stanfill of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Cameron (Brigitte) Calvert, Jesse Hughes, David Harris, Kayla Harris, Carly Mendes, Precinda Mendes, Joseph Mendes, and Autumn Harris; great-grandchildren, Peyton Calvert, Brady Calvert, and Aerianna Harris; sister, Mary Christine Watkins of Wheele, IN. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Dillon and Faye Burgett, and a brother, James Burgett. Pallbearers will be Jesse Hughes, Cameron Calvert, Tim Harris, Will Brassfield, Joseph Mendes, George Sexton, and Billy Potts. Honorary Guests are Joe Mendes, Al Danorovich, Tyler Blake, John Plourd, Dr. John Simmons, and Dr. Cary Pulliam.
