OBITUARY NOTICE OF LOCAL INTEREST Mrs. Delores Dody Irene Evans Newman, 73, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, and a resident of Middletown, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 5 , 2008, at Atrium Medical Center. Graveside Services for Mrs. Newman were conducted Friday, March 7, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Northside Cemetery in Monroe, Ohio. The Iowa native was the daughter of the late Gale Dee Evans and Naoma Ariel Leonard Evans. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse working private duty. She had served as a volunteer for the Planned Parenthood organization in her area. She loved crocheting and sewing. She attended Harlan Park Church of God. She is survived by three daughters, Leona Marie Adkins of Middletown, OH; Tanya Leigh Turner of Hamilton, OH; Sharon Irene Hopkins of Stillwill, OK; one son, Gale David Evans of Middletown, OH; grandchildren, Latisha Scott, Shelby Adkins, George Sparks, Harold Sparks, Bobby Sparks, Ryan Sensbach, Amanda Newman,David Newman, and Nita Hopkins; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Roxie Belle Propps; a brother, Dave Gale Evans; several nieces and nephews in Ohio. Locally, she is survived by two devoted nieces, Sheila (Johnny) Hines and Susan (Stacey) Roberts of Hampshire; nephews, Robert (Winnie) Sparks; William (Judy) Sparks; John (Vonda) Sparks, all of Hampshire; and Edward (Anita) Sparks of Maryland, formerly of Hampshire. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Roberta Joann Evans and Sharon Lee Sparks; a brother, Stephen Hollis Evans. Herr-Riggs Funeral Home in Middletown, Ohio was in charge of services.
