Mr. Stephen Steve Potts, 56, a life-long resident of the Primm Springs community, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 28, 2010 at his residence on Dog Creek Road, surrounded by family and friends. Funeral Services for Mr. Potts will be conducted Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Alexander, Deacon Chad Roland and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery in the Primm Springs community. The family will visit with friends on Monday, March 29, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born in Maury County, Tennessee, he is the son of Betty M. Potts and the late Robert M. Potts. Mr. Potts attended Santa Fe High School. He was a self-employed logger, and a former employee of Stanfill Hardware and Lumber Company and Potts Brothers Sawmill. Logging was more than a job to him because he loved his work. Mr. Potts enjoyed mule pulling, western movies, and loved country music. He enjoyed riding horses with his daughter, Jade. While growing up, he attended Elmore Nazarene Church, and in recent years, had become a member of New Life Baptist Church. Mr. Potts will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. In addition to his mother, Mr. Potts is survived his son, Tracy M. Potts of Primm Springs; his two daughters, Robin (Allen) Johnson of McMinnville, and Jade Potts of Culleoka; two sisters, Roberta (Mark) Stanley of Columbia; Joy (John) Stanfill of Primm Springs; one brother, Donald F. (Barbara) Potts of Primm Springs ; one grandson, Holden Miles Potts of Columbia; two grand-daughters, Kaylyn Guzman and Jaylyn Johnson, both of McMinnville; a very special aunt, Ruth Smith of Culleoka; Sue Jett Potts, mother of Tracy and Robin; Shelia Steward, mother of Jade; several uncles and aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Lola Potts, and Calvin and Josie Potts. Pallbearers will be Carl Hutcherson, Boo Boo Hutcherson, Bobby Potts, Phil Stanfill, Stacey Potts, Terry Hood, Jim Dodson, and Darvin Mitchell. Honorary Guests will be Michael Westmoreland, Ricky Bentley, employees of Potts Brothers Sawmill, and employees of Stanfill Hardware and Lumber Company.
