Of Local Interest Mamie Louise Spann, 89, a long time resident of Hurricane Mills, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Waverly Health Care in Waverly, Tennessee. Services for Mrs. Spann will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, Tennessee with Rick Rolin officiating. Burial will follow in the Richlawn Cemetery. The family will visit with friends for 4 " 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. The Hurricane Mills resident was the daughter of the late Jim and Minnie Sawyer, and the wife of the late James L. Spann. She was the retired owner and operator of Mamies Fashions in Waverly for 32 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister-in-law. She was a member of the Wildwood Valley Church of Christ. She is survived by two sons, Joe (Judy) Spann of Columbia, Ray Spud (Peggy) Spann of Hurricane Mills; 7 grandchildren, Debbie (Greg) Buie of Columbia, Timmy (Tabitha) Spann of Columbia, Jody (Kim) Spann of Centerville, Jeff (Monica) Spann of Hurricane Mills, Christy (Brandon) Bone of Waverly, Melissa Spann and Derek Damesworth, and Buie (Margaret) Spann of New Johnsonville; 11 great-grandchildren; Chris Buie, Hunter Buie, Matthew Spann, Dylan Spann, Justin Spann, Karlee Spann, Kailey Spann, Kassie Spann, Graycen Bone, Braden Bone, McKinney Spann; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Sawyer and a brother, Johnny Sawyer. Pallbearers will be Timmy Spann, Jody Spann, Jeff Spann, Buie Spann, Brandon Bone, and Greg Buie.
