Mr. Larry Gene Shultz, 67, a resident of Pulaski Highway, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral Services for Mr. Shultz will be conducted Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. at Christ Church Columbia on Lion Parkway with Rev. Ward Jones officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 until time of service at the church. Military Honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Lawrence County, he was the son of Lula Mae Wynn Voss and the late Allen Voss. He served his country during the Korean conflict for United States Army as a Military Policeman . He is married to Lorene Clifton Shultz. Mr. Shultz was retired from Columbia Construction Company and is of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed reading, gardening, yard work, and cooking. He was a fan of UT football and the Atlanta Braves. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by daughters, Susan Ashworth of Loretto; Denise (Sammy) Woods of Lawrenceburg; Lisa (Tony) Anglin of Bethlehem, GA; step-daughters, Wanda (Ronnie) Davis of Woodbury; Theresa (Doug) Yant of Columbia; Kathy (Jerry) Becker of Columbia; step-sons, J. B. (Debra) Mangrum of Dickson; Danny Mangrum of Dothan, AL; Terry Mangrum of Columbia; sisters, Pat (Mike) Walls of Decatur, AL; Judy (Bob) Lee of Columbia; brothers, Jeff (Darla) Goodman of Lawrence Co., Ronnie (Becky) Shultz of Columbia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Shultz. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heritage-fhcs.com.
