Edna Articeil Hobbs Staggs, 92, formerly of Lewisburg and Donelson and resident of The Bridge in Columbia, died Monday, June 1, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Services for Mrs. Staggs will be conducted Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Frank McMeen, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Mars Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Morgan Hobbs and Ruth Davis Hobbs. She was widow of Lloyd M. Bill Staggs. She was a retired clerk/receptionist and was affiliated with the Co-op in Donelson for many years. Her favorite of many enjoyments was traveling. Mrs. Staggs was a member of the Donelson Church of Christ. She is survived by a niece, Ava Nell (Frank) McMeen of the Cross Bridge Community; great-nephews, Frank McMeen, Jr. of Jackson and Mike (Jacqueline) McMeen of Murfreesboro; great-nieces, Robin (Allen) Cohen of Cleveland and Leslie (Randy) Dickerson of Murfreesboro; a sister-in-law, Louise Crowe of Columbia; a brother-in-law, James Doss of Lewisburg; several great-great nieces and nephews and several great-great-great- nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death sisters, Oxylene Hobbs Lovell and Kathryn Hobbs Oberste; a nephew, Travis Lovell; a sister-in-law, Ruth Doss. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
