Jerry B. Holcomb

Mr. Jerry B. Holcomb, age 74, loving husband of Thelma Holcomb and a resident of Creek Stone Drive in Columbia, TN passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 surrounded by his family. Funeral Services for Mr. Holcomb will be conducted on Friday, October 15, 2010 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Friday, October 15, 2010 from noon until the funeral hour of 3:30 pm. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. A native of Maury County, Mr. Holcomb was the son of the late Leslie Bond and the late Patrie Brown. Mr. Holcomb, a loving and caring family man, worked in many capacities in his life. He was a former firefighter, retired employee of Monsanto, and most recently he retired from Maury Regional Medical Center where he served as a security guard. His caring personality and thoughtful ways will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. His family fondly recalled his love for UT Football; but this could not compare to his love for his children and grandchildren. Of course, if you knew him, you would know that also close to his heart was his love for his dog Bo and we cant forget his cat Bootsie . They, too, will truly miss his love and affection. In addition to his wife, Mr. Holcomb left to cherish his memory two daughters: Sheila (Donnie) Elrod of Readyville, TN, and Bethany (Stacey) Anderson of Columbia, TN; two sons: Jerry Todd and Scott Holcomb both of Columbia, TN; five granddaughters: Christy (Jonathan) Swenson and Brook (Chris) Murphy both of Murfreesboro, TN, Lindsay Floyd of Readyville, TN, Erin Holcomb of Santa Fe, TN, and Morgan Anderson of Columbia, TN and two grandsons: Justin Holcomb of Columbia, TN and Brandon Holcomb of Santa Fe, TN, one great granddaughter, Allison Swenson of Murfreesboro, TN, and one sister, Nancy Holcomb of Columbia, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and co-workers. In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Leslie Holcomb, Jr., J.W. Holcomb, Milton Holcomb, and Clint Holcomb, and one granddaughter, Bridgett Floyd. Pallbearers for Mr. Holcomb will be Donnie Elrod, Jonathan Swenson, Stacey Anderson, Chris Murphy, Justin Holcomb, and Bart Anderson.
