Ervin Youngblood

February 12, 1952 - January 15, 2011

Mr. Ervin Youngblood, Sr., age 58, husband of Wanda Youngblood, and a resident of Spring Hill, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services for Mr. Youngblood will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at noon at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Wayne Street in Columbia with Rev. Alvin Anderson officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home and from 11 am until the funeral hour on Friday at the church. Interment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. A native of Troy, Alabama, Mr. Youngblood was the son of the late Clinton Youngblood, Sr. and Annie Crawford. In addition to spending twenty years of service with the Army, he retired from General Motors in 2006 where he served as a laborer and was a member of the UAW. He was an active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist church for many years where he currently served as president of The Brotherhood. Mr. Youngblood had many interests in life, but none could compare to his love for the Lord and his family. When you met him, after just a few minutes of conversation, you soon discovered his devout love for his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his bike. As of recent days, he had taken up walking with his wife Wanda. His loving and caring ways and his sweet kind words will be missed by all. In addition to his wife and mother, he left behind to cherish his memory three children: Ervin (Pam) Youngblood, Jr., of Columbia, TN, Tamyra (Eric) Morris of Murfreesboro, TN, and Edwin Youngblood of Spring Hill, TN; three grandchildren all of Columbia, TN: Lamont Hames, Lazaria Youngblood and Laila Youngblood; five sisters: Bertha Jane Youngblood, Jerry Dean Youngblood, Betty Lue (Samuel) Reed, and Michele Youngblood all of Trenton, NJ and Theresa Tucker of Atlanta, GA; six brothers: Jimmie (Leveta) Youngblood of Troy, AL, Eddie Dean Youngblood of Albemarle, NC, Garrie Youngblood of Atlanta, GA, and Jimmy Lee Youngblood, Clinton (Marci) Youngblood, Jr., and Jerome Youngblood all of Trenton, NJ; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-mother who raised him, Bertha Tillery, two brothers: David Youngblood and Willie Tucker, Jr. and a grandson, Levi Ervin Youngblood. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. You may send condolences to Mr. Youngbloods family at www.heritage-fhcs.com
