Miss Jennie M. Bertrand, age 79, a resident of Pasadena, California passed away on September 02, 2011 at her residence. A private graveside service will be held for Miss Bertrand later. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. She left to cherish her memory: a son Clarence Bertrand of Pasadena, CA; a daughter Linda (James) Chatman of Rialto CA; three grandchildren: Jenna Chatman, Jason Chatman, and Keith Chatman all of Rialto, CA; three great-grandchildren: Jayshuan Chatman, Isaiah Chatman, and Jason Chatman, Jr. all of Rialto, CA; nieces: Jean Conger, Dorothy Smith, Vivian Martin, Deborah Martin and nephew: Eddie Martin all of Mt. Pleasant, TN; long-time friend Rick Bushnell of Pasadena, CA, and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by husband Milton Bertrand and her parents: Clarence Evans Mayes and Dorothy Martin Mayes; and a brother Evans Bobby Mayes. Miss Bertrand loved working with numbers and was a tax preparer for 30 years. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
