Mr. Joe Green, age 62, husband of Judy Carol (Teeples) Green and a resident of Hardison Street in Columbia, Tennessee passed away at the home of his son on Wilson School Road in Chapel Hill on Friday, December 31, 2010 with his family by his side. Funeral services for Mr. Green will be held in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, January 03, 2011 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Eddie Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Harper Cemetery in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, January 02, 2011 from 3:00 PM " 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Green was a native of Westpoint, Tennessee and the son of the late Marvin Ricketts and the late Mary Louise Lovell. He was of the Church of Christ faith. He was employed for 32 years with Truette Construction in Lewisburg, TN. He truly enjoyed the outdoors and loved to garden, fish and hunt. In addition to these interests, he also was an avid reader; but the true love of his life was his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and we cannot fail to mention his dogs and cat, they are a part of the family tooAlli, Buster and Rufus. In addition to his wife, he left behind to cherish his memory two sons: Wesley (Bessie) Green of Chapel Hill, TN, and Billy (Lori) Green of Murfreesboro, TN, one brother Charlie Green of Summertown, TN, and one sister, Denvell Green of Ranburn, AL; twelve grandchildren: Michael, Bo, Jared, Joseph, Jacklyn, Michelle, Bethany, Wendy, Katie, Brandon, Buddy, and Waylon Green; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Mattie and Clear Bennett, and two sons: Pat Green and Sam Green, one daughter, Wendy Green, and a great granddaughter Emma Hope. Pallbearers will be Wesley, Billy, Bo, Joseph, Jared, and Michael Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Green, Jamie Green, John Chunn, and Ricky Dawson.
