Born in Rayville, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and the late Gladys Hartman. She was a homemaker who had a lot of other interests as well. Her high school sweetheart, who became her husband of 40 years, recalled with a huge smile on his face, her loving and outgoing personality. Ronald talks of her early years as working as a secretary and waitressing. He mentioned how Joyce could never go anywhere without making a friend. Her caring and friendly personality led her to becoming a product demonstrator in local grocery stores following their move from Missouri to Tennessee in 1991. Mrs. Anderson was also remembered by her family for her love of reading and sewing. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to many different places of interest which included Spain, Italy, China, Alaska and many other destinations. She always saw the positive side of life. She was a member in VFW Auxiliary and a Girl Scout leader. She was a member at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. Joyce will truly be missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched. In addition to her husband, she left to cherish her memory one daughter, Stacy Rene (Manny) Anderson Manan of West Point, NY; one son, James Edward Tucker (Gretta) Anderson of Nashville, TN; two grandsons, Gabriel Emmanuel Manan and Greysen Julius Manan, both of West Point, NY; one brother, Roy E. (Wanda) Hartman of Rayville, MO and one sister, Myrtle (Gene) Cox of Excelsior Springs, MO; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
