Mrs. Marshie Virginia Ferguson Goats Cole, 87, the widow of Virgil Eugene Cole, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at NHC/Oakwood in Lewisburg. Funeral services for Mrs. Cole will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home will be assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Maury County, she is the daughter of the late J.W. and Grace Ferguson. Mrs. Cole is retired from Durango Boot Company. She was of the Baptist faith and loved her children, grand children, great grand children, and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Cole is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Larry) Lamar of Lewisburg, TN; three sons, William Goats & Larry (Carolyn) Goats both of Columbia, TN, Phillip (Kay) Goats, and Jerry Goats, both of Lewisburg, TN. In addition to her parents and husbands; she was preceded in death by one son, Ernest Goats and several brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be, Dave Lamar, Brian Goats, Brandon Lamar, Brent Goats, and Keith Goats. Honorary guests will be doctors & staff of NHC Oakwood.
