Betty Ann Butcher Calabrese

Betty Ann Butcher Calabrese, 67, a resident of Oakwood Drive in Columbia, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Mrs. Calabrese will be conducted Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Father Clare Hendricks officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home concluding with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mrs. Calabrese is the daughter of the late Harold Roy Butcher and the late Elizabeth Louise Emelda Smith Butcher. In July of 1968, she married Jack James Calabrese, who survives, and they had 42 joyous years together. Mrs. Calabrese was a licensed cosmetologist, and has spent many years providing this service to many customers. Past employers were DeNuovo Hair Salon and Shear Excellence. She loved crocheting, knitting, and gardening. Mrs. Calabrese was very devoted to her family. She loved to travel and enjoyed shopping. Mrs. Calabrese was of the Catholic Faith. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Calabrese is survived by her two children; a daughter, Ann Marie Calabrese of Columbia, and Jack Calabrese, Jr. of San Diego, CA; a sister, Carol Rose Barras, and a brother, Harold Roy (Lisa) Butcher, Jr., both of New Orleans, LA; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jack Calabrese, Jr., Ann Marie Calabrese, Scott Barras, Allison Barras, Harold Butcher, Jr., Jason Butcher, Jonathan Butcher, and Jimmy Butcher.
