Steven Fred Shade, age 65 of Peytonsville Rd in Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Williamson Medical Center. No local services will be conducted, but he will return to his hometown of Louisiana, Missouri for celebrations and burial. He will be buried in Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, MO. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements. Steve was born September 5, 1948 in Louisiana, Missouri and was the son of Fred Stanton Shade and Wilma Frazier Shade. He left home at age 13 to begin his life of independence. He worked while continuing his education through most of high school. In 1984, Steve moved from Missouri to Tennessee, hitchhiking his way here. He came to visit his sister and remained in the area, beginning his own business. He was a contractor, painter and owner of S&P Painting in Franklin. Steve will be remembered as independent, conservative and ready to work. He travelled with his equipment from job to job, and built his business on his reputation as dedicated, dependable and honest. In his free time, he spent time with his dogs, working on his pickup truck and boat, fishing and shooting pool, and reading westerns. Steve was always busy and his hard work will be missed by those who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Larry. He is survived by his son: Tony Shade of Farber, MO; a brother: Gary Shade of Louisiana, MO; a sister: Hazel Jennings of Atchison, KS; and one grandson: Austin Shade of Farber, MO.
