Demorris "Rat" Palo

December 21, 1943 - March 9, 2012

Ms. Demorris Palo, age 68, a resident of West 12th Street in Columbia, Tennessee passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A Funeral Service for Ms. Palo will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Proctor officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and again on Monday one hour before the service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Doris Stewart (father) and the late Elvia (Cates) Stewart (mother). She was of the Methodist faith. She loved her family and they were the joy of her life. As her family reminiscence, they recalled how she loved buying gifts and enjoyed eating and cooking. She also loved gardening and animals (especially dogs). Her kind and loving ways will truly be missed and felt by all those who knew and loved her. She left behind to treasure her memory two brothers: Roger Dale Stewart of Columbia, TN and Danny (Dorothy) Stewart of Nashville, TN; five sisters: Deloise (Jerry) Love of Culleoka, TN, Mary Ann Kelley of Culleoka, TN, Mildred Kelley of Columbia, TN, Vernell Kelley of Columbia, TN, and Pauline Norman of Mt. Pleasant, TN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Palo was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Palo; a very special nephew Waylon Jennette; two brothers: James Stewart and Randy Stewart; and two sisters: Frances Monahan and Idell Dean. Pallbearers will include: Terry Garrett, Robby Love, Jimmy Mooningham, Tracy Kelley, Greg Kelley, and David Martin.
